John Ottenheimer (known within the firm as John O to set him apart from John Crosbie) became part of the Morrow Morrow & Crosbie family in 2018.
His broad legal expertise, spanning real estate and property law, personal injury matters, and wills & estates, continues to be a valuable resource for both our team and the clients we serve across Newfoundland and Labrador.
John’s professional journey began long before he entered the Courtroom. He spent many rewarding years as a teacher and later as a school principal in rural Newfoundland and Labrador shaping young minds and strengthening tight‑knit communities. Driven by a desire to broaden his impact, he pursued his law degree at the University of Windsor and was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 1982.
From 1996 to 2007 John served with distinction as a Member of the House of Assembly and as a Cabinet Minister, bringing his passion for public service to provincial leadership. He later chaired NL Hydro and acted as CEO of the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation. John has an engaging personality and his authenticity has gained him tremendous respect across the province.
Since joining our firm, John has relished the opportunity to work closely with clients offering thoughtful counsel backed by decades of legal and governmental experience.
John lives in Marysvale with his wife Helen, surrounded by their four sons and ten grandchildren, and remains committed to giving back to the community that has shaped his life and career.
